Haaadocowa

Postby Torimaro » Thu Jun 12, 2008 12:13 am

I know some of you are into punk and Hardcore of the not MTV or hipster type. Does anyone know of any shows coming up in osaka or kobe? or any live house websites i should check regularly for shows in the former or later? also, anyone know if the Himeji mushroom still does punk shows or is it all jazz now? I know the Sprouts used to play there and are from Himeji but i cant tell if any of the current bands playing that venue are worth checking out. Im into all kinds of punk but mostly dirty dark hardcore and (only) japanese "thrash" (tone deaf, bad dirty hate, crucial section...)

OH! what about black metal?

Sinkagura in Osaka

Postby lblisters » Thu Jun 12, 2008 2:43 am

I played at Sinkagura in Osaka, smallish bar/club/rehearsal space. Very nice people, seemed to be a hub of the local indy punk and metal scene - one night was young local punk/pop bands, another night was a festival with metal and hardcore bands from all over Japan. Less commercial than other venues I visited.

hey there.. im not really sure about upcoming shows in the osaka/kobe area, but i used to go check out bands at a live house called fandango, here is the website. there were some pretty good punk shows there, other than that, i would point you towards the tokyo damage report, which lists some punk/metal shows in tokyo, and you could probably follow some links to figure out if the same shows are touring in kansai.
have fun.. definitely a lot of good punk/metal over there.

On the subject of hardcore, anyone interested in starting a hardcore/metalcore band in the osaka area?

not really... not much for metalcore, no gear or talent and oku-san forbids band joining but why dont you tell us what you play and who you want to sound like?

ive never heard of any of those bands. are they on bridge 9? anyway lets make this thread about what your listening to in the broadest sense of haaadcowa.
Ive been listening to stuff from the nw us (where i moved from) like Sex/Vid "nest" 7 inch and Walls 12 inch. walls is probably the best band in the nw with members from Iron Lung and the Lords of Light.
from japan i keep it limited to the thrashier side of haaadcowa with tone deaf, bad dirty hate and Crucial Section only because i cant seem to find any bands a little more to my liking with a dirtier slower sound. I also like some Japanese Crust and am fucking excited for D.S.B. to play Kobe in Sept as ive wanted to see them for about 5 years now.

Im also way into the Austin (Texas) haaadcowa family of Army of Jesus (Rip), Repercussions and Sacred Shock. These are my current favorites and undeniably fucking awesome no matter what branch of haaadcowa you are into.
