This guy "claims" to be in Japan. DOKAKA. Does anybody know him/her/it?????

Dokaka update!
His real name is Shinya Ihara and he works in a video store, I believe in Tokyo. He was interviewed on a Seattle radio station this week (KNDD, 107.7FM "the END"). He said his boss has given him a lot of time off (6 weeks apparently) to pursue his musical dreams. The station is trying to find a way to sponsor him to come to Seattle and do a few songs at a show with other bands. The idea is for him to do a couple songs between each bands' performance.

If you haven't heard him yet, the best tracks of his to check out are:

Creeping Death and
Ramblin' Man

ah, the wonders of the search feature...

as others have recommended, takako minekawa sets a pretty good mood.
give ooioo a try too. i find their tunes to be more edible than what i've heard of the boredoms. that could just be the withdrawals talking though.

cheers

i was hoping to make it to see melt banana on a short trip i'll be taking to japan in october (actually, i'm in thailand for a month, with japan up for grabs), but they'll be in italy or somewhere in europe i believe.
i'm still searching for something left of center for my trip, it's somewhat difficult being in another hemisphere though :(

October schedules are being put together now, so if you know your dates, we can give you some pointers.

thanks Mulboyne, i'll be leaving the states on the 2nd of october (maybe even the night of the 1st).
the wife has left all of japan up to me, but i'm waiting on some more info from her on when will be the best time, which may wind up being the end of our trip. that would put japan at the last week of the month.

kotatsuneko, sorry for the temporary highjack of your thread, but i've really been using the search to find every other 'cheap hotels in japan?'/'best udon in japan?'/'easiest women in japan?' thread as opposed to posting them for the nth time... forgive me, but i will accept handouts.
oh, btw, isn't your avatar from the venus and braves (or something) game?
cheers

I've had many more bad times shelling out to see headline bands than I've had seeing EES play second fiddle. Don't know how your dough is but I would regard the headline band as a free gig after paying for EES.

Or check them out tonight in Stratford
