Tenor Masafumi Akikawa's "Sen no Kaze ni Natte" has been named the bestselling song of the year. The lyrics are translated from Mary Frye's "Do not Stand at My Grave and Weep". It was actually released in 2006 but made it to No.1 on the Oricon chart after Akikawa performed it on Kohaku. Japan Zone notes that he became the country's "first classical artist to have a million-selling release".
