Most Beautiful Voice?

Postby ResearchKnowledge » Sun Jul 19, 2009 2:30 pm

I can't speak Japanese, and I don't understand Japanese enough to fully grasp a song's meaning, but I do like to hear a beautiful voice. In your opinion, who has the most beautiful Japanese voice? What is her name? What is the song where she shines?

Why are always gaijin's selecting sense about J-stuffs so fuckin shitty?

In your opinion, who has the most beautiful Japanese voice? What is her name? What is the song where she shines?

Why only "her"? Present Japanese "her" voices are all shit except Misora Hibari who was probably zainichi Korean, though. You should include "his" ones.
My recommendation is Inoue Yousui, who is a classic of J-pop and he is also zainichi Korean(he yourself confessed in his autobio):wall:

Well there ya go! The best 'voices' in Japan are actually Korean! Look at Crystal Kay, another great voice - and not a drop of Japanese blood in her!
See you in PyonPyang!

Just pop in any Japanese adaruto video (porno) and you'll hear the true voice of a Japanese girl. I guess it's a turn-on for some.. but not for me.

I personally like the deeper voices, like say.. Sugimoto Aya but then I'm sure she's Korean too nida.

Thanks, I'll check out all these links.

The only voices I know are the ones I heard from songs in Karaoke (Bennie K, Koda Kumi, Misia). What are your opinions on these girls?

Bennie K - never heard of them.

Misia - can sing a bit, but her tunes are nothing special.

Koda Kumi - not sure her voice is the selling point...

Seems to be less the voice, more a tart in a short skirt that you're looking for. If so there's waaay more choice.

Oh, oh! I have to agree with Take the Poo here - but are there any Pedigreed J-singers that are any good at all, or any really good singers coming out of Japan now?

My picks are all WAY old, 2 male, 2 female - and most aren't full-blooded J-folk or kawaikochans either, but they were undeniably talented.

Nope.

While I do appreciate tarts on the physical side of things, I'm only asking about voices here. I only mentioned the girls I mentioned because they tend to be more popular w/ the young people. Now that I think about it though, most of them di tend to sex things up (except for Misia that is).

Dude, 1 exception... Aida Yua... She have the voice (and the body) of... a human being...
(but can't act even if her life was on the line...)

Bad luck I can't find the clip of Nao Oikawa's debut as a singer... It was... a trainwreck extraordinaire...

Oh fuck yeah. I have to agree with you on that one. Too bad she retired before going non-mosaic...

I always wondered if there is a correlation between voice and ethnicity. There is always a distinction in an Anglo-Saxon voice and in an Asian one. I am not talking about the obvious accent or pronunciation here, but the "color" of voice, itself.

The EGA scene in "eternal Yua Aida" will be the closest to un-mosaic-ed you can find.

Nakajima Miyuki- may not be having the most beautiful voice, but I think her voice is unique.

This is better- you can hear her voice clearer in this classic version of "Sora to Kimi no Aida Ni Wa"

I realize my ego may take a major hit for mentioning this, but how the fuck can you not mention Oda Kazumasa?

I have always loved Lisa from ex-MFLO fame for her smooth voice. Before she went all poppy R&B uptempo on me:
