Candies "Su-chan" Passes Away

Yoshiko Tanaka, known as "Su-chan" from her days in 70s idol group Candies, has passed away. She had breast cancer. She's the one on the right in the video clip above.

She always reminds me (and probably most of young generation Japanese)of this somen CM from my childhood.

When I first arrived in Japan in 1975, the Candies were regularly on TV and she was the one I was most smitten with. Sorry to learn of her passing.
