This video of pan-pan girls with their boyfriends is just one of over 300 uploaded to YouTube over the last six months by user reina1991. A number are from the Taisho/early Showa period and there's also a large helping of war footage. Some are as short as 10 seconds while others are closer to 10 minutes. Most, like the one above, appear to have no sound. I'm pretty certain that many Japan blogs have already featured the colour clips of pre-war Tokyo among others but reina1991 appears to be adding new material thick and fast so it's worth keeping an eye out for updates. One of the best quality clips is of Kyoto in Spring 1934 which features a girl getting her hair arranged and dressed in kimono.

Teenage prostitutes, familiarly called "pom pom"or "pan pan" girls. They solicited American soldiers in particular, because these men had more money than the military personnel of other Allied forces. Thise photo was taken by an Army photographer, one long night in 1948. Some forms of prostitution--in particular the pan pan teenage amateurs--were the direct result of the presence of GIs as sources of income and images of liberation.

That film smells of a yaocho. The actions aren't like GIs of that era and the uniform configurations are wrong with a couple of them and one has the wrong hat on, which you didn't do in those days. The MPs would have hauled his ass back to base on his honey would be on somebody else's money.

That's one of the points. 3P is a late comer in Japan. Those days, more than one was the whole train!

As I said, it's either posed or was made for something else and edited into a pam pam! Pure yaocho!
