Angry Japanese Rapper

Postby Mulboyne » Mon Jun 02, 2008 6:51 am

[DM]x5ncz9[/DM]
Warning: foul language

Well-known rapper Zeebra has uploaded a video to YouTube in which he rages, in a mix of Japanese and English, against the MTV music business types he saw at the station's Awards ceremony. He thinks they care more about business than music. If you aren't familiar with the man, here's his recent single "Bushido" which was released as a comercial tie-in with SEGA's PS3 video game “Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! (Yakuza 3)”.

where do the japanese rappers get their attitudes from? my girlriend is an RNB singer and I have to go to her `live` a couple of times a month.
Dudes like the chump who posted this video abound and I cant help but wondering why exactley I (we) are meant to feel intimidated. She (girlfriend) will be like `oh tengu kid this is deadly Z weedblazer` and Ill be like `hello` and hell be all, head on an angle `sup homes`. in japanese obviousley.
when people have grown up getting mugged with gun fire blazing around them it makes them tough and scary. when people grow up in a 2LDK. live with their parents until theyre 24 and wear tshirts with mickey mouse on it makes them look ridiculous.

From Road to the Deep East:

...To make the story short, it seems he visited MTV Japan Video Music Award yesterday, and he was ignored by the executive of MTV Japan at the ceremony. Then he flew into a rage, and posted this video clip on youtube, with a comment, 'fxxk MTV Japan', from his home...As far as I can remember, this is the first case that a famous musician post a comment on youtube in Japan...I thought he is kakkoii a week ago for his collaboration with DOUBLE, 'platinum date', but now I have to think he is dasai when he pretends to be an Afro-American gangsta. It's okay to use the essense of rap music in Jpaanese pop music, but this kind of beef doesn't match Japanese culture, I think...more...

Sounds like someone was DWI (Downloading While Inotxicated).

He doesn't seem to understand, "musicians" like him are a dime a dozen. But sponsors aren't.

From the story:

I wish ZEEBRA will do this again when he has something to say to Japanese society/system.

That will be never. Oh, I misread that, I thought it said "..when he has something RELEVANT to say.." Nevermind.

So, all in all, he decided to take that video rant off and apologize after he had the discussion with the MTV execs? Sounds like the executives stuffed some cash in his mouth or threatened to take his music videos off from broadcasting to shut him up.
