The bear just wanted to get this season's fur...

I spent some time with the director and cameraman for this documentary, when they were doing their snow monkey documentary, so I am not surprised by the urban bear after hearing their stories. I am more surprised that they make these documentaries with a team of just two guys. BBC licence fee payers: even with that shoestring production team, the money you pay flows thick and fast!

I think I got redirected, but I was a little surprised to see this blurb:

Moose on the Loose
Natural World, 2006-2007

Nature documentary. Wildlife biologists Rick Sinnott and Jessy Coltrane believe dangerous animals can live happily in the biggest city in Alaska. Anchorage is the test ground for this experiment where human residents are trying to share their parks and gardens with 60 grizzly bears, 200 black bears, 1000 moose and several packs of wolves. The many encounters between man and beast are often entertaining, but the potential for tragedy is great. Can Rick and Jessy keep the peace?

Are they suggesting that residents grin and bear it when there's a moose loose in the hoose?
Are those the 2 guys you worked with?

No, not the on-camera talent they use to create a human story the viewer can relate to, but the behind the camera wildlife documentary crew.

https://vimeo.com/58963001

Fun fact: the "primate specialist" they used for the Snow Monkeys may be Japanese, may live fairly locally, and may have introduced them to various locations and advisers and been a really good "fixer" for them, but she will be the first to admit that her primate speciality is Lemurs in Madagascar (stop sniggering down the back there, Matsuki). They rewarded her by laying down a voice-over dub by someone doing their best pretend Cantonese-speaker speaking English accent. Very inscrutable.

As resident lemur specialist, I must say that accent sounds straight out of Singapore.

this is not video but....
Shu Lam, a 25-year-old PhD student at the University of Melbourne in Australia, has developed a star-shaped polymer that can kill six different superbug strains without antibiotics, simply by ripping apart their cell walls.

"We’ve discovered that [the polymers] actually target the bacteria and kill it in multiple ways," Lam told Nicola Smith from The Telegraph. "One method is by physically disrupting or breaking apart the cell wall of the bacteria. This creates a lot of stress on the bacteria and causes it to start killing itself."

Because it's only elders who get infections, right? You really are an odd fish. Along with your other foibles you wish your parents would hurry up and die instead of spending your inheritance I take it. You should remember that it is their hard earned money and not yours so they have every right to use it all up if they need it.

Yes, of course you are right, and that's what I meant by the reference to his other foibles. The thought that it is a young female Chinese researcher especially after that little slip up with stem cells! Unbearable.

Anyway,

Chinese people
Korean people
Women people
Old people

Have I missed any out?

Is Malaysian Chinese better or worse than mainland Chinese in your world? I sort of assumed you would take a race based view and say there was little difference.

Is Malaysian an ethnicity?

The other hint is, if she needs to leave the country to get past ethnicity-based university entrance quotas, she is not Malay.

This artist is currently attracting attention for an English language track, but we here are culturally equipped to enjoy the rest of his oeuvre, as well.

Back in the old life, I used to fill them with bits of cervelat-saucage or emmental-cheese. I did know nothing about "cultural appropriation", though.

This video is almost as sad as the original:
Live Facebook Suicide a Real Turkey
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TNEV1zOsTE

And for comparison's sake, the original version:

I had heard of shotgun weddings before but never a shotgun divorce

PS Is it just me or does the ugly guy in our right of that screen shot not look like the love child of Van Halen's bass player and the drummer?

Aren't you technically Not White enough to be a sort of spokesman or poster boy for the rage against the cultural appropriation machine? You could be a sort of reverse Rachel Devereaux, (the Black White woman fom Spokane). As an invisible ethnic minority I could probably try but it would be a hard sell, being whiter than all but albinos or you..........
I suppose I could raise a stink about horned helmets and faux fur capes at Halloween.

Any predictions on how much more juice the cultural appropriation trope has before even the SJWs tire of it?
