What has happened to deco tora? They used to be everywhere, but I haven't seen one in years. I remember the ones with all the flashing lights like those that appeared in "Black Rain" were quite common, but it would be at least a decade since I have seen one.

Japanese road laws have banned most of the dekotora modifications for years. But (and it's a big butt), the ranks of independent owner/operators of trucks in Japan* have dropped 90% since their height in 1970~80s, the Truck Yaro Era.
