A was in a bar last night and they were showing the Gachapin Challenge compilation DVD. It's meant for kids but there is something oddly compelling about watching a guy in a green toothy dinosaur suit performing stunts like the freeclimbing in the clip above. One useless piece of trivia I picked up is that Gachapin and his hairy orange mate Mukku were apparently modelled on Paul McCartney and John Lennon. The Japanese Wikipedia entries confirm the rumour about Gachapin and McCartney but is less certain about the Mukku-Lennon connection. Whatever the truth, it has forever changed my perception of this duo.
