applying for working holiday visa abroad

Postby armitageIII » Sun Sep 29, 2013 10:19 pm

Hello,

Not sure if this has been asked before.

I am an Australian currently traveling outside of Australia and was wondering about the possibility of applying for a working visa over here.

has anybody,specifically Australians tried this before?what are my odds?

any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Daniel

"over here" = in Japan? No chance.

In fact, let me quote from the easily googleable official source:

The J-gov peeps down under wrote:Each applicant for a Working Holiday Visa:

1. Must be an Australian citizen currently residing in Australia (accordingly, Australians travelling or living abroad are not eligible);

Yes,I have read the information on the official website of the Embassy of Japan.

I was more looking for someone who had attempted to do this,as there is always a lot of work arounds when it comes to visas.

for instance,I just secured a tourist visa for India at a consulate that rather similarly stated on there website foreigners will not be granted a visa and must apply in there country of origin ,which turned out to be completely false.

Really don't want to have to travel back to OZ just to get a visa.surely there's a way around this.

Cheers.

Why don't you go to the Japanese consulate or embassy in the country you're in and give it a try?
