Nuclear Turkey Japan-style

Auntie Beeb wrote:Japan signs Turkey nuclear deal

The Turkish government has signed a deal with a Japanese-French consortium to build a new nuclear power station.

The $22bn (£14bn) contract is Japan's first successful bid for an overseas nuclear project since a tsunami wrecked the Fukushima power station.

The deal was signed by visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said it would transform relations with Japan into a "strategic partnership".

"What happened at Fukushima upset all of us. But these things can happen. Life goes on. Successful steps are being taken now with the use of improved technology," the Turkish prime minister added.

1: "French utility group GDF Suez"

It's "Gaz de France" like toho gaz or sala... what the fuck they are doing in the nuke business ? It's the game of EDF/Areva "electricite de France"/consortium so weird that it makes halliburton looks clean. (and it's not like if they were competitor either, former state monopoly previously called EDF/GDF since they were a single entity)

2: Fukushima was mostly due to having imbeciles behind the wheel... In a seismically active country... So with Turkey it won't... wait... aww... shit...
and it's islamofacsites too... oh joy...

Generally speaking, the general population are behind the wheel and have the chance to affect how many reactors are built and how they are run.

So the French population must be at least a tad less imbecilic.

content and complacent are almost the same when dealing with a population that can barely think for themselves.

Unfortunately, in cases like Fukushima, the rest of the world can pay the price.

France, Japan join forces for larger share of nuclear market

Japan and France on Friday agreed to boost nuclear cooperation to secure a larger share of global atomic energy markets as Tokyo's pro-nuclear government looks to restart reactors despite public unease in the wake of the Fukushima disaster.
The agreement comes hot on the heels of a $22 billion deal struck in May between Japanese and French nuclear giants to build Turkey's second nuclear power plant.
Both agreements have the strong support of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who has been touting Japan's nuclear safety standards on trips overseas, even as the wrecked nuclear plant in Fukushima has suffered a spate of radioactive leaks and remains in a precarious state.
"When it comes to atomic power plants, we will respond to expectations that Japanese nuclear technology will help raise global safety standards," said Abe during a joint news conference with the French President Francois Hollande.

You realize that they don't even understand the concept of indoor plumbing, right ?

They probably think they just bought a magic kettle that make light in the dark.
