Yeah, but these fucking idiots are clearing the pool after the quake was well over... Not searching for anyone, just cleaning up. Some guy cuts his finger on a a piece of metal, "Shucks, I'm bleeding. I wonder why.." (camera zooms in for a close-up of blood). Look at all the injuries!..

Hee, hee, I saw that too. That was a brandnew public swimming pool that opened last July 20th but "somehow" it fell apart when nothing else new did (typical Japanese building industry fraud).

I have a good idea...DRAIN the pool and have a cleanup crew take care of the mess. These people have to be the stupidest people I have ever seen in my life. Do they think they'll get it clean enough to swim in without draining it? Idiots!!

I thought I felt a wobble... I thought it was one of my engineers farting...

Now that Nooper has gone away I am lost when there is an earthquake...

USGS says 5.0. And while poking around for that info, I found this new scary map of the quake area (epicenter is the star) with future probability of The Big One marked in colors. This is a map of the risk of a major quake, and everything southwest of Tokyo is basically off the scale.

Yeah I was riding my bike around so I didn't feel it but I heard those fiberglass roof shingles rattle like crazy like it was hailing on them from above. It sure wasn't raining or anything but I noticed one of those street corner mirror poles was shaking and I could hear some people talking on their phones about an earthquake.

By the way, why is it that everyone has to get on their fuckin phones every time and call each other whenever there is an earthquake? At least DoCoMo is happy but the lines get congested and you can't make a damned call.

That was my first earthquake experience in Japan, and i admit i was jelly-legged afterwards. Was on 4th floor of Book first in Shibuya and the books made a hell of a noise crashing together. I really dont like eartquakes very much

I think this is one of the signs that shows you have been in Japan too long. ;)
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

I was on the bridge at Harajuku looking at two very strange gaijin girls trying to do goth (badly) and didn't feel the earthquake.

Earthquakes are great - they let out the pressure - well that is what I tell myself anyway.

I was standing in Shibuya Ax staring up at some heavy-looking lighting rig swaying dangerously and rating my survival chances as "slim". Or perhaps "flat" would be a better word.

I didn't mean "6 floors", I meant "6 on the richter scale". That was only a four.
