Personally, I can't see suede coats ever going out of style.

We called them Mukluks, but damn, they were the best snow boots ever. I had the sealskin ones.

Not with red laces, of course.

You know what always troubled e with alquaeda and BinLabomb ?

... the lack of action on common soft targets. It's was one thing to crash on the pentagon... but blowin up farmer markets would do much more to scare BilyJean and Bubba...

well... now with daesh...

it sound more real...

At least one person has been killed and 12 more injured after an explosive device was set off in a bar in Ansbach, near Nuremberg, Sunday. Mayor Carda Seidel confirmed that an explosive device was involved in the blast. Other details of the explosion are yet to be unveiled. The detonation occurred in the vicinity of the open-air music festival 'Ansbach Open', which was discontinued following the incident. A total of 2,000 people were immediately evacuated from the area.

This is the kind of things that cops and intelligence agencies have been worrying about for a long time. Not long after 9/11 my dad's friend who worked in law enforcement said that if he were al Qaeda and really wanted to terrorize people in the US he'd have 19 guys with guns walk into 19 random homes across the US and gun down 19 families. He figured that's the direction things would eventually go but hoped he was wrong.

It might make people afraid, but would be a huge waste of resources imo. You see those suicide bombers in Israel; they blow themselves up on a street corner, five people die and the world press might or might not print three lines about it on page 5.

Looking at how much less human rights there are and how much more authoritarian and less democratic the govermnents have become in USA/Europe since the Bush era, I think that the current marketing strategy of the terrorists works pretty well. Pretty much everyone bows down and grabs their ankles in front of ISIS. They are winning.

But you raise a key point, polarization is at the root of this.

(Video)

It's striking what a difference there is between listening to people who are actually expert on counter terrorism and people who simply know a bit and have an robust opinion. There was someone expert on Radio 5 this morning saying pretty much exactly the same thing as that video. ISIS's desperately needs recruits. The attacks in Europe are not an end in themselves - They are designed to stir up as much fear and hatred of muslims as possible and a strong reaction against all muslims. And then ISIS will be able to recruit many more young muslims to their cause because of the injustice they face.

I think Islam has enough great PR going for it already...not need to give them any more ammo and it's hard to radicalize immigrant kids from Islamic countries when they grow with people from their host country showing them compassion and treating them like fellow human beings. (and maybe after a generation or two, they'll stop believing in the sky fairy)
