No question...was rooting for the sharkies but the choked hard in the final series. Can't lean on your goaltender AND forget how to shoot.

Yeah, the Pens deserved that. The Sharks won their first game on an OT snipe (great shot) and their other other one on a goalie so hot he could've melted the ice (shots 2-1 Pens). They outworked them, they outplayed them, they outcoached them. Malkin was disappoingtingly silent, Crosby plays a different game, but they were a real team, and the Ewok from Toronto took the Forest Moon. Smaller, faster, better. It was a great playoffs all through, and they who should have have lifted Lord Stanley's Cup have lifted it again. To paraphrase Cloud William from The Omega Glory (ST S02E23):

That which was theirs is theirs again.

Joe Thornton doesn't have what it takes. That Paedobeard aside that disappoints me. He makes Rick Nash and Eric Lindros look accomplished. Chokers, eh? What can ya do.

LOL, he was soo good in this series yet all I heard was people ripping on him for being a tubby bitch in the off season. (I'd sure love to be a tubby bitch with Lord Stanley's cup)

I don't understand what happened to the Sharks though....besides the usual choke, Jones was rock solid and they were amazing on offense all the way up to the final. I expected much more out of them.

Yeah, the Pens got in, under and behind them on offence, and fell down in front of all their shots. The Fish were so busy trying to pass it into the net they forgot to shoot half the time. As an example, at about 15:40 of the 3rd tonight somebody gets it on the doorstep and insted of turning and roofing it tried to pass it through 2 Pens across the crease to the late comer. No goal you fishy faggot, and that would have tied it. They were lucky to get 2 games. They choked. It was a shame, if only because we wanted Game 7 back in Pittsburgh. Coz more hockey is always good hockey.



Never name a team after a fish. Lesson learned.

Exactly....too bad as a game 7 would have added some drama to the series.

yeah. I was in for a Game 7 ferschur. Up Here most people's favourite teams went out early enough (or never made it at all) so people were scrambling to find somebody to cheer for, but the level of hockey was outstanding: a nice mix of proper rough and tumble playoff hockey but still keeping enough of a lid on the clutch and grab that the skaters could skate, which is what the Pens did all the way through. Lots of people here went Shark from the Wet Coast factor, and for Big Joe Thornton, but I had to vote against the Paedobeards, and I've liked the Pens since I was 4 or 5 anyways, and I fucking hate the Sharks (don't know why). The fat skating penguin is the coolest mascot going.

The Sharks might have another season in that team, and lots of their 2nd rank players stepped up nicely, but I think Big Joe is a natural born choker, or just unlucky, and it might have been one lucky run. We'll see. Either way, The Kid is back in town. All Hail
