... how does a space launch fuck up the fishermen? You're telling me that the 2nd richest country on the planet can't even launch for entire seasons of the YEAR because of this? Tell these asshole fisherfucks, 'Um, hey, we're gonna spew out all kinda flames and shit at such and such a time on such and such a day... you shouldn't hang out for a couple of hours or so...'. It's not like they put up rockets once a day. Not even once a month.

Not that simple.
Those rockets spew out tons of raw fuel and other debris and whether you agree with the environmentalists or not, they do pollute the vicinity. Therefore there needs to be careful site evaluations before they start lauching rockets.

I wonder if they'll change the island name from kurisumasu airando to something else more traditional and Japanese..

NASA blows up a Shuttle about one every decade, the Euros/EUfreaks and Chinese lose something every 8 years due to some error, while the Ruskies apart from their bankrupt economy almost always win in Space ventures

the benefits are massive - in aerospace tech, Tv broadcasting, satellite mapping, missile technology....


The big problem for Nippon is that its satellites never launch and its rockets constantly fail spend most of their time exploring the bottom of the Pacific

This constant stream of Jpn-failure is why they want to build a Space site as far away from Toyko as possible
