Woman complains to cops after hitman she hired fails to get the job done

MDN wrote:A woman who hired a hitman to murder the wife of her lover, and then complained to police when he didn't do the job, has been arrested along with the hitman, police said.

The murderous intentions of Eriko Kawaguchi, a Tokyo Fire Fighting Department employee, came to light after she complained to police because the hitman didn't carry out the job, although she paid him about 15 million yen.

... Tabe offered to murder the target by taking her on a motorbike into a tunnel and pouring poisonous bacteria over her.

... But the wife of Kawaguchi's lover was never attacked and recently gave birth.

Six months later, Kawaguchi then went to the Tama Chuo Police Station and made a complaint, police said. Officers are grilling Tabe about the possibility of other murder contracts ... more

What has the world come to when you're fleeced by a hitman.

Net site offers 'murder, revenge' services
The Daily Yomiuri, Sep. 17, 2005
.....Recently, many Internet sites offering assistance with issues related to murder and revenge have been found. Some of them have dealt with customer requests that developed into crimes.
In April, a Nagoya man was stabbed to death at home by a man from Kaniecho, Aichi Prefecture, who was hired by the victim's wife through a dating-service Web site. She found him through his advertisement on the site, saying, "I'll do anything you want."...
"It's difficult to identify the managers of such sites as many of them manage the sites through their own servers," said Takayo Okubo, senior researcher of the Tokyo-based Internet Association Japan. "Such sites can't be shut down until illicit acts have materialized. Even after shutting them down, they can easily launch a new site at a new address."....more....
