in case you ever wondered what goes on inside that asahi/flaming turd building:

after leaving it too late to go to Nikko via Asakusa one day, wandered around with a mate and eventually crossed the river to the building and found a bar/restaurant on the ground floor. After a couple of drinks (i seem to remember thinking it was expensive, but they had a good selection & i had some Belgian cherry beer) we wandered around the back and took an elevator upstairs out of curiosity: there was some kind of company matsuri celebration/party being held in the function rooms, a couple of people approached us to ask what we were doing there - we just shrugged & smiled, (my friend was wearing a low cut top and very short skirt) and then they invited us in to take a look and have some food and drink. they had people singing and one of those guys doing a traditional dance with a wooden dragon head and he was 'eating' y1000&10000 notes with the head...
