You're entirely right. I'm sorry about that. If anything, my crankiness is directed at myself -- regardless of the fact that I translate for a living and began learning this language 16 years ago (12 or so years of which have been pretty intensive), I'm still not where I want to be yet. :wall: Case-in-point, today while at the dentist there were at least three instances where I didn't know the dental-related terminology I was being assailed with, and it was extremely frustrating ... In any event, the problem is mine, not yours, so I apologize for flying off the handle.

I think part of my problem with this sort of drill is that it's based on JLPT crib sheets


I hear that. Do I really need to know the term 閑地 (JLPT 1) insofar as agriculture is concerned? No, I probably don't ... but if it were ever to come up in conversation and I didn't understand it, I'd get cranky. Ugh. :rolleyes:

Anyway, sorry again for the attitude (shortly after posting I edited my initial reply, but obviously you saw the original version) and I thank you for your post.
