Looking for an energetic, native English speaker for a teaching job located in Ibaraki city, Osaka. The job has excellent hours, (30 hours a week 6 days a week, 5 hours a day), excellent pay (250,000 yen a month), and even has a room that they are willing to let you stay in for only 35,000 yen a month plus utilities. It's not bad for someone just off the boat and likes kids.. Are the hours in block, or split up throughout the day?

When I first came over, I made the same pay working 25 hour, 5 day weeks.. I had tons of free time and saved close to a grand a month; the free time allowed for more lucrative privates.. And her privates were soo lucrative.

So AK, you scored a job making more than 2K a month working less than 30 hours a week? Cool!

I worked less than 30 hours for more than 25 man in five days (often four) for almost the whole time I was in Japan.

I worked 7 days a week when I first got here and didn't mind at all; I learned more from my students than I taught them..

IF you are serious about hiring someone why not mention if they help pay for your health care, do they offer vacation periods, if so how much? Sick leave? Unemployment insurance?

What about transportation costs? Is there any bonus included (even Geos and I think Nova give some sort of bonus)?

Is it just a dead end salary or does it increase with experience?

What about training? Is there any at all or are you just thrown in a classroom with kids upon signing the contract?

If I were looking for a teaching position these would be some of the things I would be curious about.
