[floatr]Image[/floatr]Portal da Cidadania: Lawmakers will hear testimony from Brazilian community in Japan
According to the psychologist and psychoanalyst, Taeco Toma Carignato, the members of the Joint Parliamentary Investigatory Commission (CPMI) on Illegal Emigration will discover many problems among Brazilians who reside in Japan ("dekasseguis"), especially when it comes to discrimination in school, their insertion in the Japanese community, and the area of health care. She is used to treating Brazilians who return from Japan with "serious psychiatric disorders." Her advice to the members of the CPMI who left for Japan on Monday (27) is "to listen to the Brazilians, hear their complaints and grievances, and visit the Brazilian communities and the schools to observe the way the children are treated, as well as conversing with Japanese government officials about improving the dekasseguis' living conditions."

The Japanese? Racist? To foreigners? NO?!

They might be slanty eyed yellow monkeys who speak a funny language with strange pictures, eat weird food, and dress in kimonos, but they aren't racist.

Bloomberg: Zico Released From Hospital After Stomach Complaint
Japan soccer coach Zico was released from a Tokyo hospital today after complaining of stomach pains two months before the World Cup in Germany. The 53-year-old Zico, Brazil's second-highest goal-scorer after Pele, was hospitalized yesterday with acute gastroenteritis, the Japan Football Association said on its Web site. "He was released today in good condition," the Tokyo-based association said in a statement.
