I have just been entertaining my office with these - they are going down a treat. The papaya one was answered quickly as was the cow as well as the girl in the elevator. The deer/dentists stumped them also the hiki koumori.

Keep them coming!!

Shall I add the one that gomichild told to me recently???? Note: I take no credit or responsibility for this one!!!

Doumo GG.

Here's a tricky one I heard from a Japanese girl:

Kuma no mae ni sakana ga 5-hiki arimasu.
Kuma ga 2-hiki kuwaeru to nanbiki arimasu ka?

Great explanation Ketou-san.

kurohinge1 wrote:Kuma no mae ni sakana ga 5-hiki arimasu.
Kuma ga 2-hiki kuwaeru to nanbiki arimasu ka?

The answer is: 7 hiki (7 fish)

The reason:

"Kuwaeru" can mean take/hold in your mouth but it can also mean add (as in add 5 plus 2).

;)

'Stalker' to yudeta tamago ga nande onagi desu ka?

Why are relatives like an octopus?
Nande shinseki to tako ga onagi desu ka?

No idea about the first one but Dimwit's answer to the second question (althought it is not a pun -thank God) would be

Because they are both into tentacle porn.

Sorry no banana.
Actually the answer to the second one makes sense (sort of) in both English and Japanese. The first one is a play on words that you have to know some Japanese to get.

Why are relatives like octopus
Because neither can be chewed (enjoyed).
Ryoho ga kamerarenai!

Stalker like a boiled egg?

It only makes sense in Japanese
Ryoho ga kaeranai.
play on the two meanings of kaeru, to go home and to hatch a chicken.

I don't make em up I just pass em along.

And here's another - I'll ask it in English for convenience but the answer only makes sense in Japanese:

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
