Yomiuri: Dancers alter gear to avoid Nazi link
The Awa Odori Association of Tokushima Prefecture has decided to remove the swastika--the family crest of a feudal lord--from its dancers' costumes for an upcoming performance in Germany, as the pattern may stir up memories of the country's Nazi past...The swastika used in the crest of the Hachisuka clan of Awa Province (now Tokushima Prefecture) is anticlockwise...The association was once asked during an overseas performance if there was any relationship between the two. The association's spokesman said it had decided to remove the pattern to avoid a similar misunderstanding in Germany...more...

It's time for the rightful owners of the Swastika to start reclaiming it worldwide. It's too cool a symbol to be owned by the worst monsters the world has ever known.

If I'm not mistaken, the Nazi swastika is flip flopped. They're not the same symbol. Don't get your undies in a twist, Tokushima!

On a side note, I was very lucky last summer to be able to see this festival, it's very fun. Go if you can!

The one with the Obasans dancing or the one with the nazis carrying the signs?

In India there are lots of places that use the Swastika same way as the Nazis. They also call the symbol a Swastika.

Actually, by removing the manji aren't they implying that they are associated with the Nazis since they'll be putting them back on outside of Germany?
