Anyway, I find any Japanese name that ends in "mi" rather pretty like Manami, Ayumi, Hitomi, Megumi and so on. The ones that end in "ko" like Junko, Tomoko, do not sound nice to my ear.

Nice Japanese names? I like Saori. For guys I like Satoshi. I dont like any name with an 'f' in it...
Horrible Japanese names? Maiko (sounds too much like Micheal), Ryuu (Have to really concentrate before I say it), anything ending in Hito (HISAHITO? come on...!), Nobuo is pretty bad.
Jack wrote:Yeah, Asami does it to me all the time.
I guess I had a super relationship with a beauty called Hitomi so I have this thing for that name.
I like Hiromi as well and Aya, Sayaka. So many pretty sounding names in Japanese.
When I watch the Memoirs of a Geisha the cute little girl named Chiyo made me like that name.
The one's I don't like, Tomoko, Junko, Terue, Nagako, Chisato, Sanae, Yoko, Yuko, Eriko, Rieko, and I'm sure there would be many others.

It actually is kind of a cute name, plus I've never seen a character named Chiyo that isn't mind blowingly cute.
Jack wrote:The only thing with a name like Chiyo-chan is that after the age of 8 it might sound, shall we say, too childish?
