I know these machines look cute-ridiculous, but the average age of a Japanese construction worker is 57 years old and these toy power shovels can replace the need for couple of unavailable 20-something laborers on the worksite.

I know people who use this type equipment in small gardening companies back home and it is actually quite useful especially for cramped conditions. Both Komatsu and Kubota produce excellent quality small contruction equipment.

The Capt'n and his chief designer, a Mr. Aneha, use this equipment while building their earthquake proof apartment buildings and hotels!
