A few random comments:

"The lack of public dust bins when you need them the most."

At least in the Subway, there were many more before the Sarin gas attack.

"Notoriously bad hospitals."

They seem to work quite well enough. After all, the Japanese have the highest life expectancy on Earth... (and served me quite well: couple of births, no deaths)

"Also whenever you speak a word of Japanese - "sugoi, nihongo wa jyozu desu". piss off. all I said was "ikura desu ka?""

Here's what's fun about Japanese. When you said, "ikura desu ka," all you meant was "ikura desu ka." When they said "nihongo jyouzu desu ne," they meant nothing of the sort, but something like, "wow, that kind of sounded like Japanese, but that guy isn't Japanese so isn't it odd/cute how he attempt to speak Japanese despite sucking at it, a totally foreign concept to ware ware nihonjin who would never do anything like that in public where there is a risk of making even the most minor of mistakes..uh, what do i say to this foreigner in this situation...oh, i know - just as we smile when we are nervous or afraid or confused, i guess we should smile and compliment him...nihongo jyouzu desu ne". People who speak Japanese well never get this comment.

Sure, they work well, as long as you aren't really sick.
