I heard that the party is being co-sponsored by NAMBLA.

ABS-CBN: Michael Jackson postpones Tokyo Christmas event
American superstar Michael Jackson has postponed a pricey Tokyo Christmas event to next year so he could add another date to his schedule to meet fans, organizers said. Jackson had been set to appear in a December 19 "Premium Christmas Party" for 1,600 fans in an event to include dancers, a band and gospel singers. According to an Internet notice, the event, renamed as "Premium V.I.P. Party", has been rescheduled to March 8 and will offer more tickets at high prices. For 400,000 yen, 300 "platinum" ticket holders can "meet and greet" Jackson and have a picture taken with the star. The ticket will include food, drinks and a glass of champagne. Jackson himself will not perform and will watch the show from a special VIP area, the advertisement said. He will also make some brief remarks. Previously, 200 platinum tickets were on offer. In an additional "Fan Appreciation Day" event on the following day, tickets costing 15,000 yen will allow fans to view a show of dancers performing to Jackson's hit songs while the star watches from a special area. Last month, Jackson sang at an awards ceremony in London, his first public performance since his child molestation trial ended last year.

Or for 500,000 yen, they will guarantee that he will not come anywhere near you or your family.

It's worth every penny.

Michael Jackson back in the United States, planning trip to Japan -
Yahoo! Canada News, 25 Jan 2007
....Jackson did, however, say where he is going next: Japan, for a business meeting and a "fan appreciation event" in early March.
"I love Japan," he said. "It is one of my favourite places in the entire world."
Jackson, one of the best-selling artists of all time, said he has chosen to come back to Japan because of the strong support.
"My friends and fans in Japan have been so supportive of me and my family for many, many years," he said. "My fans in Japan helped me achieve historic milestones in the music industry."
But Jackson won't be giving his love away for free.
Broderick Morris, the promoter working on the Japan side of Jackson's trip, said they have sold 220 of 300 tickets to a March 8 "platinum VIP party" with Jackson - at US$3,300 a pop.
Guests will have dinner, get autographed photos and be able to "meet and greet" Jackson for 30 seconds to one minute, Morris said.....more...

It would appear that the party is ON!
Jackson arrives in Japan for fan events
AP
TOKYO - Smiling and waving to screaming fans, Michael Jackson arrived in Japan on Sunday for his second visit in recent years to host an exclusive party where admirers pay $3,500 to spend 30 seconds with the pop icon.

A relaxed-looking Jackson in trademark sun glasses and black leather jacket was ushered by guards past hundreds of screaming Japanese fans at Narita Airport on Sunday afternoon, some carrying signs that read "We love Michael" and "Welcome to Japan."

At the VIP party, guests will get to mingle with Jackson, spending 30 seconds to one minute each of exclusive face time with him, according to organizers. It was unclear whether the star will perform any songs.

While in Tokyo, the star will also host a fan art contest for those who cannot afford VIP tickets, organizer Broderick Morris said in an e-mail.

"Over the years, as Michael Jackson has performed in cities around the world, he has been pleased, honored, and impressed by the large amount of fan art of him," said Morris. "He would like to meet fan artists, and more fully appreciate and enjoy their creative expressions."...more...
