Cut the crap, Jack. We all know you're a bigot and an anti-Semite. Don't think I've forgotten the anti-Semitic tripe you used to post on this board. There's a reason for the title under your name.

Is this some kind of cultural Helsinki Syndrome Jack is experiencing in which he is not so sure exactly if he is Black, white or turning Asian?

Jack made claims against Whites & Europeans which I for one have seen equally in Japanese people at some time or another. Why did you omit black people from the claim? I mean, if everyone other than Asians are complete imbeciles & filthy bigoted ZARGS, doesn't the western hemisphere also include black people tainted with the white infidel's traits you proclaim?

I think you guys are looking for the *Racism in japan* thread in the fucked forum.

Let me get it all back on track by letting everyone know how much I like a Ramen at 4am after a heavy night out.....certainly challenges the old kebabs of home.

I also love the sad infatuation with the North Koreans, and also love the fear surrounding the next imminent Big One, that is definitely going to hit the particular spot of land that you occupy in this country.

You give yourself way too much credit douche bag.

It's funny that you bitch about everyone being so negative towards Japan when most of what you've done on here is give very boring accounts of how easy the women are. Yeah, your attitude towards the local gals shows a real love and respect for the country. Don't get me wrong. I've got nothing against objectifying women. But I'm not going to sit around and whine about everyone else looking down on Japan if I've shown myself to be one of the biggest chauvinists on here.

Anyway, what I love about Japan is yakitori, 24 hour access to alcohol, plenty of seedy nighlife without the high crime, opportunities to make money that never materialized for me at home, learning the language (I guess that's a love/hate thing), the fringe benefits that come with being a gaijin, my friends, imozochu (yes I said it), asahi super dry and ebisu, the low cost of single malt scotch, kara-age, sushi and sashimi, saba-shioyaki, autumn in Tokyo, natto and takuan for breakfast, what's left of shitamachi ....

(Not many foreigners!!!!!!:D ROTFL)

What the fuck is wrong with this guy????

Has Blinky's propaganda machine gotten to him?:-D

Have you considered the fact that not all foreigners will want to gang bang your wife, boil your children, or skewer unborn fetus and plop them in the oden pot to simmer until tender and juicy?

That said, I have seen some pretty dodgey gaijin run oden stands.

Right on....

Many times my head has been saying go to bed, but my legs automatically carry me to the local ramen shop for a quick slurred conversation with the master and a nice steaming bowl of ramen.

Isn't this a dupe of a previous thread?

What I love about Japan (besides the normal stuff like hot women and über convenience):

  1. The country isn't overrun with (and/or run by) overly religious idiots.
  2. There is still a reasonably good level of personal freedom here and the safety nazis have not (yet...) taken over.
  3. Living in a huge city without huge city crime levels.
  4. Awesome expressway system to make getting out of the city a breeze (except major holiday periods, but those can be worked around by leaving/returning a day early or late)
  5. Amazing business opportunities for those who are business-inclined.

Overall Japan is a great place to live and I have no plans to leave.

There have been a few similar threads and definitely one recently. I think it turned into a god debate because one of the things someone said they liked about Japan was a lack of religious fervour.

Can't seem to find it in a cursory search.

Or maybe religion permeates so deeply that it is omnipresent, you just don't see it because it doesn't show in ways that you notice it.

So, I should really say that one of the things I love about Japan is the fact that I dont feel, hear or see that religion is a big deal here.

I agree with Charles.
There is the extreme end of religion here which can be summed up in one word: AUM. Not to mention all the various cults such as Sokka Gakai and these http://www.rickross.com/groups/jpsects.html
On a more individual level even combinis sell candles, incense, and flowers for the butsudan.

Yes, religion exists in Japan. There are real wackos in Aum and lots of suckers have been bled dry by Sokka Gakai. SG even has a political party, Komeito -- although "on paper" they haven't been affiliated for 35 years or so.

I think the biggest difference for me is that Japan doesn't have a lot of the in-your-face religious bullshit that has come to permeate life in North America. No drug-addicted pole-smokers on TV preaching hate against gays and trying to extract as much money from people as possible. No delusional idiots trying to introduce creationism into science classrooms. I also think there is a lot more tolerance here for different types of religion.

Japan is not perfect. I just prefer the system of religion here over what seems to be happening in North America.

 Well, it is one of the great things about Japan! People (with a very few extremist exceptions) can be religious here without feeling the need to cram their beliefs down the throats of others.

The thread I was thinking of was this one:
http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11059

There are others too though, I am sure.

You are forgetting that one of the great things to like about Japan, is that they make everything so easy for FGs by providing highly informative directions on signs and instructional materials in English! This way you will never become lost or confused!
