Kanye West Does Japan

Kanye West has just released a new video for his song "Stronger". It doesn't appear to be on the web yet but according to MTV, they shot in Japan for nine days and brought in a "genuine Japanese motorcycle gang". You'd think the budget might have run to include a proofreader:

Hmmm, I see what you mean about their Katakana spelling of 'stronger' as "sutosoga".
0 hits on google for ス](sutosoga)
53 hits on google for ストンガー (sutonga)
178,000 on google for "ストロンガー(sutoronga)
[floatl]Image[/floatl]
I bet they can save face by saying they had to use the incorrect spelling to cover posssible trademark infringement with Kamen Rider, "Stronger".

It looks like they got one of the motorcycle gang members to proofread and they paid him with model airplane glue.

Kanye West isn't too bad compared to most of the (c)rap in the charts.

Kanye West doesn't care about Japanese Pop Culture!

Postby Kuang_Grade » Sat Jun 30, 2007 1:13 am

Wow, I hope they didn't spend more than $1200 making that video because it is not showing if they did...Teaming up Rob Pongi and some CGI otaku guy who would work for a couple cases of mecha musume figures would have turned out better production values.

NME: Kanye West collaborates with Japanese artist
Kanye West has collaborated with Japanese artist Takshi Murakami on a series projects for his new album 'Graduation'. Japanese artist Murakami has been compared to pop art legend Andy Warhol, and will create all the artwork for the album singles including 'Stronger', out next week, and 'Can't Tell Me Nothing'. Murakami has also created a three-minute animation for one of the songs, along with artwork for the merchandise. West told The Guardian: "Murakami's work in stunning."

It seems to me that Kanye West is going the same route as Pharrel Williams, tying himself to various Japan-related projects in hopes of getting a piece of the Japanese hip-hop sales pie.

Showbiz: Kanye West: "Gays Know How to Dress"
..."People always try to discredit gays altogether but they really know how to dress. They dress good. Gays know how to dress. Because you can dress good don't make you gay." West added that he also takes fashion tips from Japanese people because they "know how to dress too"...

found this earlier in the thread:

He produced about 45% of the crap-hop beats since 1995. Please don't get me started on this fucking clown. I saw a motorcade of hummers rockin' his adverts in shibuya about a month ago. (being very drunk) I proceeded to piss on one of the H2s when the driver, who was from queens, got out and noticed I was an unshaven, baggy pant - black hoodie wearin' white boy rockin' a boston hat, he made nice. We had a 40 min conversation about hiphop, life and other shit. Nice guy, totally agreed that KW is a clown and said "shit, free trip to Japan and good money for doing nothing.... this is the best job ever." At the end he gave me daps and his card so we can meet up next time I go to NY.

As far as the gay thing........ being a gay inspired rap artist isn't the best way to sell records.

It truly amazes me how many corporations and people put out shit without having someone proofread this stuff. I would think this would be a good biz opportunity or maybe they just don't give a fuck... I know there are some translators on here, but what's your .02?

I made it through his interview on Lex....if you didn't think he was "off" before, I want to petition Oxford to add "Kanye" to the dictionary as the adjective the most opposite of "humble."

Having worked for and with many Jewish people, I have to admit that like many of the locals here assume the best about other locals and would choose to work with a local over a non-local, there has been an us/them vibe at times. I can't tell you how many times I've been encouraged to "find yourself a nice Jewish woman to settle down with." I've also seen "anti-Semitism" be used as a shield to deflect any criticism of bad behavior BUT I suppose since I'm not insane or traumatized by the experiences, my mind didn't go to some grand conspiracy. Usually just someone letting their bias get the best of them and/or trying to cover up their embarrassment by projecting their own shame.

Musk finally banned him

evidently lost his marbles, more crazy than usual.

He's now dress up like a Supervillain from Power Rangers and appearing on Alex Jones

Does he really believe that stuff or more “out there”, controversial statements simply to gain attention.
