You've been digging through old threads again. Glad you did though, it's quite interesting reading my own views of a couple of months ago and comparing then with today.

I find myself embracing some of today's propaganda. It's hard not to when you see such compelling images on the TV.

I've changed my opinion. Even if no WMD are found I think the war was justified.

I still think the views of the nations who voiced opposition to it have strong merit. The diplomatic route would have been a less barbaic method than war, but would it have worked?

However, there was never any doubt that America could win the military war. The next stage is a much bigger challenge, and with less glory and wonderful images than the last few days. Bush should brush up on his diplomatic skills and court the world. There'll be much ugliness in Iraq in the next few years and I don't think America should want to receive the bulk of the blame for it.

I also think it's shameful the way Bush embraced the support of Uzbekistan. A big problem with American foreign policy are the many instances of hypocrisy, this is another example that they could have done without.

Uzbekistan played a vital staging role for U.S. troops when they went into Afghanistan.

And Saddam played a vital role in keeping Iran in check.
