When is the iPod Touch Coming To Japan?

Anybody know the date? They were supposed to be available 09/28/07 but that has come and gone. Anybody have some info? I want to buy it in the store rather than order it from Apple online.

I too, had the same expectations as you my friend. Why, just yesterday I asked BIC camera the same question and all they could tell me was October. They were not sure of the release date either. Well, I am sure they know, they just weren't willing to give out that valubale infomation as of yet.

I bet they are delaying it because windows users are having troubles but why should I as a very long time apple user not be able to get mine? They have even issued a software update for windows users so all should be well now. These all ship from shanghai so Japan should have received their stock by now. They are in stores all over in the U.S. now. I almost feel like an asshole waiting to give them my 48,000 yen while they keep delaying it.

I called the apple store here too as I have a reservation but I don't trust them to actually call me when they arrive and they were tight lipped about when their stock will arrive as well.

If there are problems on Windows then Apple is wise to not release it. No matter how often you tell people it won't work they'll buy it, take it home, and then bitch when (surprise) it doesn't work. PR nightmare.

I really wish apple didn't start marketing to Windows users. It makes good business sense but as a lifetime apple user (I have never owned a pc) it sucks. There has been a software update addressing the problem it isn't that hard to let people know about it beforehand. The ipod touch has been released they aren't revising the ipod itself so I don't know what the holdup is as they are in stores in the U.S. My mom is visiting this Friday I might as well have her just bring me one at this point.

I did speak to the Apple store here in Fukuoka and got the same story that they don't have an exact date but could get them in by the end of the week. Not sure how credible that is.
