i am planning to go over and live in japan in a few months but thought i should get some info first... im australian and am wanting to stay in japan for at least 12 months... anyone know of the legalities of me working in japan and what sort of work can be obtained???any help would be appreciated i have been pointed in your direction by a few people...

Before you go on a working holiday visa, consider this: due to the recent collapse of the largest chain of English instruction schools, there are thousands of unemployed expats who will be competing with you for jobs. This is probably the worst time ever to be going over on a working holiday.

You haven't mentioned what skills you have or what job you have been doing until now. Really there are all sorts of jobs you can do, but remember that if you are on a WHV then you are not allowed to work in bars etc so that limits you if you are unskilled. And there are an excess of English teachers as Charles mentioned so look for work before you come.
