New bigger store? About time too..! The shop was overtaken bit by bit by the restaurant, with the bookshop having to cut its stock dramatically. >_<
(Anyone tried the restaurant??? Good? Bad?)

The Daiso store was in the old Japanese centre (212 Picadilly), but the price definately wasnt 100 Yen. More like 500 Yen... (2pounds 50) Hopefully they've seen sense???

...Nah, I doubt it.

Well, London could certainly do with some proper 100 shops. Ridiculously expensive place (Tokyo's almost cheap by comparision).

I have seen Daiso in Toronto but I wouldn't really say it was competing with dollar shops over there. It was mostly selling Japanese Kitsch.

its a shame that things lilke that happen. if they introduced the store exactly the same as what it is in japan --including price-- to london/anywhere else in the west, i'm sure it would be a hit. if their stock sell, it would overcome any cost problems on their side. but because they change things, make them 'how the west want japanese things to be' it ruins it.
who cares if the shop is japanese? the concept is enough.
