Yes, I see the logic. The airlines charge passengers 50,000 - 60,000 yen round trip for the 1 hour flight to, say, Osaka. Passengers should be happy to pay this if Ultraman's there to see them off.

Aizu has some historical sites and decent snowskiing nearby. Or if you prefer camping or the sea, you can head to Iwaki. The prefecture as a whole is very rural, but that's a benefit sometimes when overwhelmed by concrete in Tokyo.
