McDonald's Time Wasters Under Fire

Some guys went to a drive-through McDonalds, ordered and then drove away without waiting for the food to arrive. Not much there really but they decided to upload the video to Nico Nico Doga which unleashed a storm of net criticism with people calling for the police to investigate. The original video was deleted but others have reposted it elsewhere on the site and also several times to YouTube. I'm not sure I really want the police wasting the time on something like this.

if the police are gonna crack down on bicycles and force them to obey what few rules of the road there are and treat them like a vehicle then i think it sucks that mcdinks wouldn't serve your friend because he was on a bike.

the shopping trolley bit is hilarious though. i've walked through (back in canada) and gotten served.

McDonald's won't serve pedestrians or people bikes at the drive "thru" in the U.S. either. My friends and I tried it when we were young (because the drive "thru" is open later than the rest of the place) and were turned down. Years later when my sister worked at a McD's I found out that the reason is because they don't want to be liable if a car comes barreling around the corner of the drive "thru" and flattens any pedestrians or bikers there. It's actually in the McD's rules. I somehow doubt a shopping cart counts, but if you worked at McDonald's how seriously would you take their rules?

2 things: 1. Yes, this was in Japan (Osaka). and 2. he wasn't my 'friend', just some fuckwit who happended to reside in my town and drink at the same watering hole as me.

I'm sure there are places in the states what will serve you anyway too. Probably just depends on the person working the window/whether a manager is there. The one my sister worked at they weren't even allowed to take left over food or anything because if they took left over food and ended up getting sick the McD's would end up being liable.

eh? i think only an eleven year old would consider that a prank.. what, was the guy picturing a bunch of people scrambling to get his hamburgers and shaka-shaka whatever in the ten seconds between ordering and cruising off? the people working there probably hardly even noticed.. put the precooked burger back into that heated waiting area for the next customer...
