Gizmodo: Scientist Creates Cold Fusion For the First Time In Decades
Cold fusion, the act of producing a nuclear reaction at room temperature, has long been relegated to science fiction after researchers were unable to recreate the experiment that first "discovered" the phenomenon. But a Japanese scientist was supposedly able to start a cold fusion reaction earlier this week, which―]...more...[/URL]

The defining evidence for a deuterium + deuterium fusion reaction is the production of 3.02 MeV protons (50%) and 2.45 MeV neutrons (50%).

There was no mention of this in the article.

If they can't provide an unambiguous 5 sigma signal for both, then it's just more junk science - bollocks.

This lack of a clear fusion signal is what lead to Pon's and Fleishmann's fall from grace. Just measuring temperature - calorimetry - doesn't cut it.
Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and
