Well, at least he's not an inconsiderate person. I mean, if you're gonna die, die with a little dignity, just go all out with a bang!:kanpai:

Relevant to the vantage point of some who have posted here about Benjamin Fulford however. The idea that you can become a full member of a nation simply by renouncing your former country and joining up is a distinctly American idea historically. And it is so ingrained in the American psyche and others in modern western societies that they feel it is some sort of self evident truth. From my experience, the Japanese do not have this belief incorporated culturally. So being, racial profiling is no sin here and actually is sensed to be something natural, although westerners may judge it differently.
The idea of beng stopped because you have white skin is interesting to me. Do white-skinned people have a high crime rate in Japan? - I don't think so. How often do Chinese get stopped by the police?

People who don't look East Asian are getting stopped by the police. This would iclude people with more or less melanin.

I don't know if the police don't stop Chinese people less or not. If they are stopped less frequently one obvious reason would be that they are not readily identifiable as gaijin.

From what I understand, if you take out immigration violations, foreigners in Japan have a lower crime rate than the rest of the country.

I am not sure I agree with your historical analysis of the situation. The Japanese got pretty incensed during the Yellow Peril period of racial prejudice in the US. They were pretty upset at being lumped in with the Chinese.

I doubt that feeling incensed at being the victim of racial prejudice is limited only to Westerners. I believe a lot of non-Western immigrants to the West would hope they would be treated fairly.

You seem to be saying that it's racist(or at least cultural ethnocentric) to be offended by racism.

The idea that you can become a full member of a nation simply by renouncing your former country and joining up is a distinctly American idea historically. And it is so ingrained in the American psyche and others in modern western societies that they feel it is some sort of self evident truth.

I don't know where you get this idea from because, historically, the US does not have a history of any large scale immigration. Immigration is as old as humankind is and I can't imagine any of us have appreciated being treated badly by their new neighbors.

I don't expect to be accepted by Japanese people as another Japanese person but I do hope that the police will stop harassing gaijin-looking people. And I also hope that Japanese society will take a look at itself and examine the way it portrays and treats us, too.

Yes, I realize the extent of American 'immigration'. I meant to write 'emmigration' and I realized that after I posted.

I don't know why you keep bringing up the Social Contract as this was a discussion on racial prejudice not the relationship between an individual and the state. Aren't we just name dropping here?

Is it Rousseau's Book V that discusses the need to harass people of different skin color?

I don't think it's only Westerners who take issue with racial bias. I have known a Malayan of Chinese ancestry who told me that it's harder for them to get into universities.

Koreans who were forcibly brought to Japan have suffered here.

How is the Japanese cultural model totally different if they were also upset at being the targets of racism?

This, with a red, negative rating - ooooooohhh....
Whoever this was - why not put it out here in the open with your identity? The User CP thing is so lame - what the hell is the value of someone rating your opinions and thoughts? If you got something to say - say it here.
I always get the image of the shitheads who get into the negative CP stuff as the types who were the teacher's pet/classroom monitors in the 3rd grade.

As adults, we should be above such things as greenies and reddies, but not beanies and bennies....digression.

It all comes down to attaining that desired station in internet forum life. Of perfect greenness, where you are beyond repuke, or of utter redness, where you are in anus around these parts. Either way, your lungs still exchange O2 and CO2.
