Gordon Brown sat down to the lavish slap-up dinner just hours after ordering Brits to stop wasting grub. The PM joined the world's most powerful men and women for a 19-dish banquet washed down with fine wines and champagne. They met at the G8 summit in Japan to help solve the world's food crisis - but appeared to be unaware of the irony of their groaning plates.
