CrankyBastard wrote:Jack, did you ever read any of the WaiWai articles?
Jack wrote:Right.
I meant to say they will understand Mainichi's decision to get out of the waiwai business.
Having sex with the animals before eating them? What the fuck? Why even write shit like that? Even if it's published in some obscure sixth rate magazine.

American Oyaji wrote:Jack,
The ones who should be ashamed for writing this should be those that wrote the articles in Japanese, not those who faithfully translated it for the English speaking net.
Jack wrote:Religiously every one of them? Except the one with bestiality.
CrankyBastard wrote:Did you think them inappropriate or did you believe the content at the time when you read them?
"And a third wondered: "Why doesn't someone drop a hydrogen atom bomb on Australia?"
Greji wrote:Plus, did you by chance notice that the original article was always set forth? I suppose you didn't if you think that those articles sway world opinion against Japan.

kamome wrote:Don't impute your cluelessness to the rest of the English speaking community that read WaiWai. Even if some people don't know that Shukan Post is a tabloid, the answer is not to ban WaiWai but rather to have a dialogue about its contents and let people decide what to believe. These 2chers have bullied MDN into depriving people of the chance to make an informed decision by using your logic that "people might think" it is legitimate news. If it's not "legitimate" then let's discuss why it isn't but don't deprive people of the choice.
Mainichi to announce results of investigation into inappropriate articles in WaiWai column
The Mainichi Newspapers Co., Ltd. is conducting an in-house investigation into the publication of inappropriate articles in the WaiWai column of the Mainichi Daily News. We will announce the results of the investigation, such as why inappropriate stories were run on the site, in the middle of this month. We will ask the "Open Newspaper" Committee, a third-party organization comprising of outside experts, for opinions on the investigation results and report it.

But maybe you guys are too set in your mindset that "some Japanese fucked a foreigner over" so no matter how logical you will be against the argument. Talk about some fucking cry babies.
