No, seriously. I'm looking for some C&H (or equivalent) for some cookies I'd like to bake for a few friends:

Trick: Use white sugar and a few few tablespoons of molasses (reducing the liquid correspondingly).

Note: except in very very very RARE health food stores, brown sugar is just white sugar with molasses added and burnt bone for color. That is how GW brown sugar is made (I worked there). Okinawa is one of the few places on earth that sell real brown sugar, the Japanese name is escaping me at the moment.

In Yokohama station where you live/work, in the basement of any of the major departo and they will have it.

Awesome, I'm on it.

Topo... are you referring to kuro sato? I'm wondering if that will work... we brought back a whole bag of the stuff when I went to Okinawa earlier this year... maybe I can hit up Groove for some fresh stuff. ;)
