Why aren`t kids everywhere falling from escalators, slipping backwards like dominoes, getting their heads smashed in from admittedly dangerous doors? Yep, it does happen in other countries but less, and I`ve never seen such negligence re letting your kids behave like shits running around in public places, including dangerous ones.

Everyday I see Japanese jerks, male and female, old and young watch passively while some brat of a kid runs around on escalators, runs through shops etc, on busy roads, parks him/herself in front of glass doors in shopping areas (both manual doors and automatic) and all the while his ugly ass dwarf of a grandmother/grandfather, empty headed mother, couldn`t give a fuck father do jack.

Seeing this so often makes me wonder about the natural intelligence of the members of inbred societies like Japan. Yeah, their maths at elementary school etc is better than that of kids in America, but as far as actually been able to reason and think for themselves, Japanese of all age groups rank in the moron level of the intelligence category.

Part of it is the peasant mentality. Yep, that`s the conclusion I`ve come to. Not being able to think for yourself, excessive reliance on others` opinions no matter how misguided, unformed and basically fucked. An oppressive group mentality, an ijime culture. Despite all the high tech goodies here etc most Japanese are serfs - their society is feudal and they haven`t moved from the peasant cast of mind. Losers.
 Sounds like you need a break..
Reddeville wrote:Take responsibility for those fucking brats you produce.
While I agree with you, I would venture to guess you don't have kids, never babysat, or been 'responsible' for a child. Single, childless men make the best parents. ;)

This 'responsibility' could also be shared by corporations fixing faulty technology before it becomes deadly.

A lot of 'problems' with children here come from lack of dicipline due to wagamama nation, IMO; Shit, most pets in Japan eat better than I did as a child.

Mainichi, August 31, 2005
A cable supporting an elevator in the 54-story Mori Tower in Tokyo's Roppongi Hills district snapped and five other elevators were damaged when last year's Niigata Chuetsu earthquake rocked wide areas of eastern Japan, it has been learned.
It is thought that the wire cable snapped because sensors failed to stop the elevator when the earthquake struck....more....

Asahi: A safer ride in the Mori Tower
Just one year after the massive Niigata-Chuetsu Earthquake sent cyclical slow-motion seismic waves rippling far from the epicenter, the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower complex in Tokyo has installed a new high-tech sensor to detect and protect against such temblors...more...

The end of the begining? The beginning of the end?

Mainichi: Yahoo Japan boss may leave Roppongi Hills to shed negative image
Yahoo Japan President Masahiro Inoue is considering moving his office away from Tokyo's upscale Roppongi Hills venue to shed negative images associated with firms there, it has been learned. Firms in Roppongi hills have come to be collectively known as the "Hills Family," a term sometimes associated with pushiness and greed...more...

Mainichi: Scary summer tales from Roppongi Hills
...For a place that's only about five years old, the Roppongi Hills complex seems to have had more than its share of bad luck...Weekly Playboy advances several theories for such misfortunes. One is that the complex suffers from bad alignment according to the principles of feng shui. A second theory is that from olden times Roppongi was the center of many Buddhist temples, which of course have cemeteries. To build a towering edifice like the Mori Tower, which looks down contemptuously on the dead, is a surefire invitation to trouble. Still another theory, Weekly Playboy suggests, involves the Hills' address, which is 6-6 Roppongi. Add the "Rop" (actually "roku") syllable of Roppongi, which also means six, and we find ourselves with three consecutive sixes, just like the Mark of the Beast as described in the Apocalypse of St. John...Actually, according to Kenji Miyamoto, a well-known fortune teller, a fourth six may be involved, making the Roppongi jinx even more potent. "The number 6, in Buddhism, has many spiritual connotations," says Miyamoto. "One of them is the Rokudo (six ways) the different levels of the afterlife. So if you consider things from the perspective of the four aligned sixes, Roppongi Hills may very well have opened up some kind of a portal to the netherworld"...more...

Whatever happened to Ganbaru?

Postby kurogane » Thu Aug 10, 2006 10:43 pm

One thing that has been driving me nuts while in Japan for about the last ten years is all those fecking automatic doors. They are like a fecking plague rising out of a sea of indolence and washing over a landscape of stoopidity.

You have to wait for them to open, hope they don't close on you, those things drive me fecking nuts. And those retard school graduate security guards are always giving me dirty looks when I kick the shit out of the ones that malfunction. Can't understand why...................... If anything needs a good shiitekicking, it's all the goddamn IR sensors that pollute that small and increasingly technologically crowded country.

Take back your life, Break an infa-red sensor today.

Back home, lots of places still have doors that need to be pushed open. Jpn tourists are constantly getting stranded outside of department stores, waiting for doors to open that they have to open themsleves. Much as I hate to play that game (Ass Kisser style ethnocentric delusions of superiority stuff), it does make me giggle.

Mainichi: Yahoo Japan boss may leave Roppongi Hills to shed negative image

Done deal. Yahoo has announced that they will move two thirds of their staff a few minutes up the road to the new Midtown development. High profile departments like the shacho shitsu, HR and IR will all be moving. There still seems to be demand for space in Roppongi Hills from existing tenants so Mori probably isn't sweating yet.

Mainichi: Roppongi Hills evacuated after fire
More than 400 people were evacuated from a 54-story skyscraper in the Roppongi Hills complex in downtown Tokyo after a fire broke out in an elevator control room on the 51st floor on Wednesday evening, police said. A cushion caught fire in the control room in the Mori Tower but the blaze was soon extinguished. No injuries were reported. Police and firefighters have been investigating the cause of the fire. After the fire broke out at about 6 p.m., about 400 people on the higher floors of the building were evacuated after announcements were made through the building's public address system. People on the lower floors were also evacuated at about 7 p.m. The building's 51st floor houses a members club, while an observation deck is located on the 52nd floor and a museum is on the 53rd floor.

Midtown -- Roppongi just got loftier
http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20070327f1.html
Scandals that seemed to mar Roppongi Hills' cutting-edge image include an accident in 2004 in which a 6-year-old boy was killed when his head was crushed by an automatic revolving door, and the 2006 arrests of Livedoor Co. founder Takafumi Horie and financier Yoshiaki Murakami, whose firms used to be based there.

You can always tell an FG abroad when they are either banging their heads on the non automatic doors or standing in front of one patiently waiting for it to open.:o

Roppongi Hills is featuring the Sky Aquarium now until the end of September. Went yesterday; lame! Spend your money on a vending beer and visit your local pet store; less crowded and equivalent fish displays..

The Sky Aquarium is claustrophobic cheesy lameness. :-x (just my opinion)
