I think this is the first thread I have read where everyone has ignored Takechanpoo's usual idiotic, antagonizing post. Congratulations all.

I usually have him on my ignore list.

AO,

Some people thing homosexuality is a sin and that gay people will burn in hell. Should they be banned from saying that on a radio talk show by government censors because it's not politically correct?

Anyway, Canada and some European countries have gone way overboard with hate speech legislation. It would seem to support the slipperly-slope theory. I am firmly and 100% against hate crime legislation even when it comes to violent crimes. If I hit you in the back of the head with a baseball bat because you are black, it shouldn't carry anymore of a punishment than if I do it because I just feel like doing it. Either way I'm a violent criminal who attacks someone for no reason and need to be locked up.

Admitting that you have a problem is the first step to recovery.

One thing that hate crime legislation was supposed to do was to deter hate groups further. Get all inspired by a an old speech from David Duke, go out shoot a black kid, and the law can reach further than merely the shooter. Kinda like serve a drink to a person who DUIs into a bus full of nuns, and you also get prosecuted. This concept was what eventually got the Aryan Nations evicted from their HQ in Sandpointe, ID (as my Alzhemeric brain remembers it)....all I do clearly remember was that on moving day, I got stuck with having to take down those iron crosses. That was a bitch....heavy motherfuckers.

I stopped reading at "Americans value diversity" because I knew the rest would be usual white race superiority crap or some fucking halfnip feeling sorry for himself. Americans value diversity so long as you speak English. You can be diverse as long as you are like us.

Editted this after reading some of the posts.

In any other country you might be able to pass that off as a slightly acerbic joke but here.....ah fuck it, I still would have laughed.

A co-workers of mine was "half" and I was always jealous of how simple life must have been for him in Japan. It wasn't until I went to a bar with him that I realized how irritating it truly must be. Every time he spoke people would say "Your Japanese is sooo good! Why do you sound like a Japanese person?!?!" This was despite the fact that his mother was Japanese and he had grown up in Japan.

I'm what people call "half", and although mom is Japanese I grew up in Hawaii, and traveled to Japan frequently.

I have never experienced anything bad about being half in Japan, except for a very few times when I am asked where I am from. After mentioning Hawaii, it never seems to come up again.

The thing I am wondering is that in Japan and America (or least in Hawaii) is that I am referred to as "half white/Caucasian/Gaijin" and almost never referred to as being "half Japanese".

Greji, forgive me for always being thick(even though it's unforgivable), but is any of that story true?
I had a good laugh reading it, anyway.

All of it, including my dipshit daughter. I've been trying to get her married since she was 11, but she claims to be a professional student for now and for another 10 more years into the future.

Believe it or not, I found the Japanese to be more open-minded about 'mixed' relationships especially compared to Koreans. In Korea, if you are half-Korean, they will make their disgust clear.
