I always get worried when big bold statements come out when every thing is shutting down and no one can do squat. They in the Fed often pulled a stunt on the weekend when nobody can move their money
A lot of people moved to holding in the 10 year note because the money banks and any kinds of stocks were basically going down the toilet. Not a bad idea since you get a much better return and even if you lose its still a much better defensive move.

Anyways for the past years I followed some of the happy stuff from bernanke and the Bush admin and followed more alarmist stuff on youtube from fund management investors like Jim Rogers, and more recently a blogger called "george4title"
Now Japan says it wants no more of the dollar,

Japan says ENOUGH! Let the U.S.Titanic SINK!

it will basically be impossible to move your cash since every firm is shutdown and you won't get anyone on the telephone during the holiday period

Maybe I've had a few drinks *hicup* but this is alarming none the less and serious enough for me to log on FG and blow some hot air

I quote bloomberg

The Fed has run out of money, and now Japan is refusing to loan them money

The guy sounds like a lunatic. Mikuni Ratings? Has anyone EVER heard of them before? A quick search on Google News shows exactly one result -- the Bloomberg story. Okay, so maybe they aren't well known outside Japan. A quick search in Japanese Google News Japan also shows exactly one result, a Nikkei interview with Akio Mikuni.

I could be wrong but this hardly sounds like a "large major financial ratings company" which is what the video lunatic called them. Mr. Lunatic then extrapolates the statements of one seemingly unknown ratings agency and titles his video, "Japan says ENOUGH! Let the U.S.Titanic SINK!" Yeeeeeeeah.

Nah, I don't care one way or the other what he wants to babble on about. Was just funny that some youtube loser took the statements of some relatively unknown (as far as I can tell anyway) company and extrapolated them to be what the Japanese and Chinese governments were saying/going to do. Our own resident "OMFG THE WORLD IS GOING TO END!" expert then posts it here as fact.

If youse wants, I can send a couple of wise guys over and talk nice to 'em. You know what I mean...no rough stuff. Maybe just break a couple arms and legs. Kinda show em our displeasure with their forecasts, if you know what I mean...

Chicken and cake??? Pathetic fools. While you guys eat some of the greasy Colonel's food and whimsy cake, I shall indulge myself on some honey baked Turkey with all the trimmings and a blueberry pie for a tasty treat and I will down it with bitter-sweet Kool-aid and to make it a picture perfect night, I will close out the evening with a digitally remastered DVD of "It's a wonderful life" By the way, Merry X-mas. Hahahaha.:p

Mikuni Ratings is pretty well-known in the financial world although I have no idea about the quality of their work. The credit ratings business is a bit of an oddity in Japan. Mikuni had three main competitors but two of them, Nippon Investors Services and the Japan Bond Research Institute, have since merged to become R & I. The other major player is the Japan Credit Rating Agency. They dominate because they are backed by leading media and financial institutions. Mikuni aimed to establish himself as an independent voice but the jury is still out on whether there is any need for that service. For a long time, Japanese investors and issuers only really paid lip service to a ratings agency because the corporate bond market was small and no-one cared too much about credit quality. Some would argue that's still true today. Mikuni himself became a popular talking head when the bubble burst in Japan precisely because he was a rare independent voice although it is questionable whether his firm generated more business. In particular, he was happy to be a rent-a-quote for the foreign media which probably helped give his firm some credibility. He wrote a regular column for Kyodo and still popped up in the press from time to time so it's no surprise to see people turning to him again now. I genuinely can't remember any of his views or forecasts and I've no reason to give his current thoughts any special weight even if he turns out to be more right than wrong.

You know the secret recipe???? Be careful, you know what KFC does when people threaten to publically release their recipe? Worse than sending the Yaks, jihadists, and some old fogey with denture breath....they send out their rabid pack of lawyers.
