Can't claim to have a nakameguro address, but I've been. It's a terrible location for lazy guys like me.. a whopping 8-10 minutes away from the station (about halfway between Nakameguro and Yutenji on the Toyoko line). But honestly I have to say it's worth the walk. Pretty tasty. Haven't compared with some competitors like La Jolla though.

Well, it has the same Suguaro cactus logo.. But from memory, it's like J-Dennys]
Yes, one visit to Taco Time in Futako Tamagawa was quite enough for me.

I had a snobby day once and went there for lunch. It's the same owners as Fonda La Madrugada., if I am remembering correctly. A little on the pricey side, but don't think it cost more than Fonda La Madrugada. Doesn't that mean "fondle your mother" in Spanish, by the way? Anyway, sitting outside on La Colina's patio overlooking the park, on a nice day, somewhat made up for the pain when I got the check.

Doesn't it have a different name now?

Haven't been there in at least 12 years, so things may have changed. Used to be close to some live house where I saw the Melvins....then ate a lot of greasy Mex. Never could digest the Melvins.

That place is called Detroit. It used to be called Club Mesa.

I always enjoy going to El Charro in Shinsaibashi. You can make requests that aren't on the menu and they'll probably make the food hotter for you if that's your taste too. Owner is a great guy.

Is this a different chain?

The Minami Senju one became PocaTaco a few months back. The menu is now closer to Taco Bell-style Mexican than Taco Time was (the menu had been drifting to more like MOS Burger), and the food is actually pretty decent. I was able to order a bean and cheese burrito there, something Taco Time had never carried.
I have a blog. Last update: August 18, 2013.

I quite like Junkadelic. It's the closest to Californian Mexican as I've found yet. There's an Aoyama location as well.

Thanks for that info gkanai! It looks like it's actually an Akasaka location technically (is that the same place you're thinking of?). And it is a heck of a well kept secret. It doesn't seem to appear anywhere in the main part of their very amusing home page, but I finally found the information buried on the 5th page of their info/news bulletin board. Looks like it just opened in September.
