[/floatl]Police were called to a house in Uruma city, Okinawa following reports that a party was getting out of hand. Inside the house, they found the 12 year old girl who lived there, a 12 year old boy and three fifteen year old middle school girls. All were drunk. It was the first day of the spring school holidays and the girl's parents were both out working. She had hatched a plan with the boy to drink some awamori, a well-known Okinawan liquor which is usually around 60 proof. She used her own pocket money to buy a 720ml bottle from a store near her house and, on the way back home, they bumped into the other three friends who were happy to join the booze-up. The drinks started flowing around 11:00am and, by 1:30pm, the group was inebriated and the party was getting lively. A neighbour heard the clamour and called the police who found the five children and an empty bottle of hard liquor. Police are charging the shopkeeper with selling alcohol to a minor. From the Yomiuri (Japanese)
