Now that Hanami season is at its zenith, I thought this video from CNN was interesting talking about trying to diagnose alcoholism before it gets out of control. According to the quick questionnaire, if a man has had more than 4 full drinks in one outing or evening, they are at risk of becoming alcoholics. Does that mean that 80% of the men in this country are raging alcoholics? 4 drinks in one outing seems to be a very low threshold for determining if you are susceptible to alcoholism. in japan? yes.
hell i was only there for three years and it turned me into one, i cant imagine what living my entire life there would do.
but really, i would say that by american standards, japan does have a high rate of alcoholism, but there seemed to be more functional alcoholics there than in the states.. of course its easier to be a functioning alcoholic when they allow you to puke anywhere you want.

This is bullshit. I refuse to cut back to four measly drinks an evening just to see if I can be evaluated as to whether or not I'm an alcoholic...
