Normally, I'd say "too soon", but the Farrah played with Majors joke was good.

OK, can't resist, as morbid as it is ...

Farrah Fawcett arrived at the Pearly gates and St Peter said "You've lived a good life, if you had one wish what would that be?". She thought for a moment and answered "I'd like all the little children in the world to be safe". 30 seconds later Michael Jackson had a heart attack.

I think the woman at HMV was crying thinking about all the Michael Jackson music they are going to sell.
With royalties maybe this will take a dent out of the debt he was supposed to be in.

Glad all the record/CD companies wasted no time in setting up their MJ tribute displays/sales...making money is a great way to honor someone who just died, ne.

To add to the jokes:

I heard that Jackson was actually assasinated by the Iranian Government so as to purposefully overload Twitter and thus break the lines of communication relied upon by protestors.

(Only funny if you're both upto speed on things Twitter and whats going on in Iran)

I feel sad that the death of a pedophile (even if he wasn't convicted, he still paid another kid millions not to reveal anything) requires a supposedly respectable global media organization to seek quotes from officials from a government that had absolutely no connection to him.

Question: What parent who truly cares for their kid would accept money from their childs molester?

I believe both "trials" were attempts to extort money. Jackson, being a private man, settled the first claim, but when the second one, I'm sure he was advised to take it to trial because if he didnt' there would be more people claiming molestations so they could get paid too.

Its an easy case. He's so weird, who WOULDN'T believe it, you know?

Japan gov't spokesman retracts Jackson gaffe
abs-cbnnews.com 06/26/09
Japan's top government spokesman hurried Friday to retract potentially controversial remarks about the late pop icon Michael Jackson, who he said did not appear to be black because of his pale skin. "My knowledge (on Jackson) was very poor, but I didn't get the impression that he was a black man because his face was all white," Takeo Kawamura told reporters, recalling his meeting with the singer in 1998 at the inauguration ceremony of then South Korean president Kim Dae-Jung....more...

While I'm sure there was an element of coercion from the plaintiff in the first case and prosecutors in the second, you don't just pay $22 million to get someone off your back, regardless of how "private" you may want to be at a particular point in time (don't forget Michael used the media to serve his own purposes a lot, too...He was not entirely blameless for the way he was treated. Don't forget the charges arose from the Bashir program Michael had orchestrated to try and drum up some good PR, just as Diana had done. In that world, you can't have your cake and eat it, too). I'm afraid that a payout of that sum can be nothing more than a tantamount admission of guilt.
Still, I feel really, truly sorry for him. I think he was probably a kind, genuine person at first but that intense scrutiny drove him absolutely batty. He was undoubtedly a prodigy and, as the Japanese say, the difference between a genius and a madman can be measured by the thickness of a piece of paper.
He made millions happy and I hope not too many unhappy. I'm sure he must have been a tortured soul by the end, so it's kind of fitting the man who yearned to be Peter Pan died while still comparatively young.

I have a theory. His death was a suicide.

Mounting debts, with a sense of not wanting to continue as he was, maybe he scheduled everything to do with the tour in preparation to bring the worlds eyes on him for one last time. He offs himself with a doctor's help. His records sell again, his estate gets paid and his family is on easy street for life. And he gets out of life.

When the news broke and the cause was still unkown the first thing my girlfriend asked was, "Jisatsu?". I said that it probably was. The guy was always getting sick though so it wouldn't surprise me if it was just a heart attack either. He wasn't the healthiest looking guy.

Anyway, we'll never know whether he molested those kids or not. I think it's very believable that he did but also just as believable that it was set up. The fact is he did admit to having sleepovers with other people's little boys. That's weird no matter how you slice it. The real truth could be even worse than one or the other. It could be both. In other words, maybe the parents let their kids get molested so they could sue his ass.

I know we like to ask what kind of parents would do that but there are a lot of fucked up people in the world and children are sold into prostitution by their families everyday so it's not that unbelievable. Also, 22 million dollars is A LOT of money. I'm sure there are plenty of people that would take the money even if they were 100% convinced that he did it and had no ulterior motive. The chances of convicting a superstar with a celebrity lawyer based on circumstantial evidence and given the abnormal behavior of the family would be pretty slim. It's very likely their lawyers in such a case would have advised them to take the money and move on.

This is not to say I think Michale did it. I don't know. But we can't act like it couldn't have happened just because a normal parent wouldn't allow their kid to be in that situation in the first place. There are way too many abnormal people out there to make that call and the power of celebrity could easily make someone drop his or her guard.

I don't understand why this remark is problematic at all.
I had loved him and his works while he was black. But the more whited his skin got, the more crappy and bogus his works got. His life after being white was all fake.

A person being black or white can be an attribute of skin color, but in the U.S. it also a matter of family history.

My mom is as lighter than many Japanese women, but she is still considered a black woman. It took my dad a while to get me to understand it because as a child, I thought my mom was white.

When I was a kid, I thought Redd Foxx was white...probably due to the hair.

Michael Jackson set to be embalmed at the O2 Centre after missing the deadline for cryogenic freezing

Michael Jackson will live on as a 'plastinated' creature preserved by German doctor Gunther von Hagens.

Von Hagens has caused controversy with everyone from the Pope to the chief rabbi in Israel with his practice of embalming corpses with preserving polyurethane.

Yesterday, he declared: 'An agreement is in place to plastinate the King of Pop.'

well with the bulk of the work having been done already, the posthumous portion shouldn't take all that long.
