As mentioned, I think Rio was the best choice but this infatuation with Obama traveling to pitch for his country is silly. Who cares! Do you think Brazilians were whining when da Silva planned to show up in person for his country?xenomorph42 wrote:I understand you have a lot of sympathy and empathy for Obama, but in the US, there "IS" quite a bit of discontent with Obama, yes for many liberals, this is very shocking, but the all omnipotent anointed is not above criticism.
Bust was criticized every minute of his administration(some of it rightfully so)but when ANY individual disagrees with Obama or has questions about his policies, you are either a racist, bigot, out to get him, not letting him do his job and frankly, people are getting real tired of it. Not only Conservatives. FOX is not the problem, Obama had the all of the American media, outlets especially MSNBC in his pocket, if CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, Univision, the NYT, LA times etc. and "one" network actually, asks legitimate questions and concerns about his policy? That makes them out to get the President?? The people are giving him a chance, but he needs to take care of serious issues at home. Besides, we had the Olympics quite a few times, I'm quite content that Brazil got the Olympics, it's about time Latin America got them. Also, Chicago had the least amount of votes and didn't even make it to the second round. What does that say. Obama went there for nothing.
Samurai_Jerk wrote:Personally, I think it's stupid for a head of state to waste his time on something as retarded as the Olympics. However, if Obama hadn't gone, the douche-bag right would be blaming him for not going and securing a win for Chi-town. Fuck Rush, fuck FOX, and fuck the Republicans.

Some Chicago officials say anti-American resentment likely played a role in Chicago's Olympic bid dying in the first round Friday.
President Obama could not undo in one year the resentment against America that President Bush and others built up for years, they said.
xenomorph42 wrote:Don't you think in all honesty that that sentiment runs both ways? You can say the same the left about MSNBC(More Stupid Nauseating Barack Coverage) about Olbermann, the NYT, the crap Carter spews and how the left constantly wanting to inject race into everything. Well, at least you don't hear that much from Sean Penn these days.
Samurai_Jerk wrote:Oh, believe me, I know the Democrats are a bunch of hypocritical twats too. I just have a lot more to say about the Republicans because I was a strong supporter until the scumbag Bush administration took the greed, corruption, cynicism and cronyism to a new level.
Anyway, I agree with Adhesive that his thread should be focused on what Brazil has to offer the world.

Anyway, I find it touching that they dedicated a whole song to their mamas.
