one of those vans woke me up on sunday morning playing music and screaming in general, first time ive heard/seen one and i thought we didnt have them up here? maybe one of the freaks took his bus on a tour holiday?! damn it was only 11 am too..

I work just down the road from Yasukuni shrine, so we get
a regular parade of right-wing buses where I am. I've been to the shrine a few times and a couple of the buses were even parked in the special visitor car park!!

I think it was a right-wing politician who set up his truck in front of that station I used to live at. I usually try to ignore their loud speakers, but I couldn't help but notice his diatribe on how Japan should rid foreigners from it's pure heart. Just for fin I stood close and listened for a few minutes. The elderly man speaking wouldn't look me in the eye as he spoke his racist tripe, and the women waving from the top of the van seemed to get a bit nervous as they waved to the ignoring commuters. Nothing was gained, but it is an experience I don't think that could be repeated in America....

This is a re-run for most, but at the last Coming of Age celebration in Shin-Yokohama, three busses drove by as I was filming. They weren't saying anything too crazy; just some hate for the Communist Party, a threat of taking a couple's picture for kissing in public, and screaming at a car not letting them through.. I thought it was pretty comical..

Too Funny.. on my 1st visit to Japan in Y2K for 3 weeks I saw these 'cool black vans' by Shinjuku Station South Exit. I was actually shooting the scene when they came along.. and thought Ok - Right On.. here's some great Japan Stock Footage!! So, I try to get the guy who was ranting along to 'smile and wave'.. well, you can imagine the look he gave me!! I had no idea at the time, and would have to go back through alot of old tape from that trip to find it.. but was a classic F**Ked Gaijin thing for me to do..

btw; Afterwards when the mrs. clued me in on what he was screaming about, it basically was complaining that gaijin were all bad, bringing guns and drugs into Japan.. don't talk to them etc. (maybe he meant the North Koreans..?!?!)

A Point.. what on top of their head maybe..!?!? These `wacky right-wing screwballs` according to people who are also Japanese, are pretty much the local version of infamous KKK. It might be said their type of Emperor Demi-God mentality some 60 years ago is what got Japan into that `Pretty, ain`t it?` freakin mess in the first place.
