Buell Bike on Gaijinpot/JT

Postby waruta » Wed Mar 03, 2010 10:27 am

Hi all,

I have contacted the seller of a Buell Firebolt recently, and apparently the gent is in the UK and has entrusted his bike to an escrow/shipping service. Below is the email:

You will have to deposit 200 000 jpy payment, to WTrust account.

The price includes Service charge, delivery`s fees and it`s insurance for the shipping, to make it accessible to you.

I want a fast deal , and the bike is ready to go and insured. As soon as I forward to WTrust your full name and delivery details, they will start the transaction and notify you with all you need to know about payment , delivery, my account status etc. You will have a return policy, so you will have the chance to inspect the bike and inform them if you keep it or not. If you decide to keep it,they will release the payment to me, or you will have a complete refund within 3 days. So, I am waiting your name and address if you want to do it. The web site is: http://www.wtrust.co.cc

Anyone know these guys? Anyway to check out if the bike is really there?

Thanks.

You could check DVLA in the UK, if the bike is registered there you can track the current owner.

The bike is apparently in Kobe....

I got a few other pics of the bike, but none with the number plate....whatchoo think, is it ok to ask for a VIN or bike number so I can check it out? I got a couple friends at the local koban that can run some numbers and registrations for me....

Yeah, ask of a photo of the VIN or bike number.

Also you tell them that your friend will drive over with the cash and pick up the bike for you. If seller provides his phone, street address and the VIN or bike number and they all check out with your buddies at the local koban, this sounds legit---Then you could just have him ship it.

Turn him in to your local koban---Those guys sleep all day anyway.:p

This is a common sort of scam. People think they are safe because of the "escrow" company but the escrow company is never really an escrow company. Your cash disappears and so does the guy who just scammed you.

Tell him you're serious about the bike, that you want to use Escrow.com, and that you will cover the Escrow.com fees. Dimes to dollars the guy vanishes.

Just had a look at the "escrow" site, it is a complete scam. From the sound of your last post you have decided not to send the money but just in case there is any doubt left in your mind....DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY.
